Jennifer E. Carter
Jennifer has been "learning to look" since she was a child. She enjoys the challenges of traditional transparent watercolor as well as pastel and oil. She is fascinated by the play of light and shadows that define forms, and the color interaction that results. Jennifer has taught art on the high school level since 1980. She currently teaches at Gonzaga College High School in downtown Washington, DC. Jennifer offers private lessons, teaches workshops at the Rehoboth Art League (RAL) in Rehoboth Beach, DE, and in the Adult Plus and Elderhostel Programs at Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, DE. She has also taught studio art and graduate courses at Trinity College in Washington, DC. Jennifer has served repeatedly as Judge and Chief Judge for the Drawing and Painting portions of the ACT-SO competition in Washington, DC. During college, Greece was her home base. She has traveled extensively through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy as a professional singer on concert tours. She performs classical and pop/jazz/big band music.
