Gerilyn Gaskill When Geri was a child her family would vacation and camp south of Dewey Beach, Delaware. Since then, the beach has always been with her, no matter where she happened to be at the time. Since kindergarten, Geri has had an interest in art. What began with drawing and coloring grew when at the age of 11 her great grandfather, who was a prolific artist, passed away and left her his oil set and several canvases. Geri took her first oil class at The Schooner Studio in Wilmington. After high school, she moved with her sister to Rehoboth where she had the opportunity to paint figures with Schroeder at the Rehoboth Art League. Geri eventually moved to California and took up nursing. She continued studying art and later moved to Baltimore where she worked as an RN and took classes in oil painting and photography. Geri has been doing serious work with watercolors and when she retires from nursing, she plans to begin a full time career as an artist.
